mainly manufactures their Collegeopoly games, but also a number of City Games and in addition a Christian game called Bibleopoly. (See chapter V).
These games are not "Authorized" by Parker Bros./Hasbro and so they do not bear the well-known red Monopoly-bar.

                                                           CITY GAMES

Edition: America! In-A-Box
Publisher: Late For The Sky Prod. Comp. - 1995 ?
Dimensions of the box: 25.8 x 50.4 cm
The game:
Apparently this is a game each American has to be proud of because on the back side of the box is written:

"America! In-A-Box is a board game based on our GREAT country, the united states of america. We chose some favorite
landmarks and locations mixed in Uncle Sam, vacations traffic jams, apple pie, the American Dream, Big Fun! and voilá ...
                (behold); there is America! IN-A-BOX!"

This game resembles Monopoly completely, still it is unique!

Instead of GO it is Uncle Sam who piercingly looks at you and points with his finger that you should go to the left! The favourite landmarks and locations you than subsequently meets are:
ALCATRAZ, DEATH VALLEY, INDIANAPOLIS 500, MISSISSIPPI RIVER, MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, KENTUCKY DERBY, THE ALAMO, THE WINDY CITY, MARDI GRAS, LAS VEGAS, ROSE BOWL, GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, NIAGARA FALLS, WRIGLEY FIELD, HAWAIIAN ISLANDS, CARNEGIE HALL, ROCKY MOUNTAINS, THE BIG APPLE, SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, GRAND CANYON, "OLD GLORY" and STATUE OF LIBERTY. Very interesting is of course the booklet "About The Board Spaces".
That tells for example about Alcatraz:

"In the San Francisco Bay sits an island called ALCATRAZ - Spanish for "pelican". Discovered in 1545, it became a military reservation in 1850. It was changed
to a military prison during and after the Civil War. In 1933 Alcatraz became a federal prison and housed some of the countries' most renowned criminals. Because
of the surrounding waters' strong, cold currents, it was considered escape proof. It closed in 1963 and was reopened as part of the Golden Gate National
Recreation Area in 1972. In its day as a federal prison, it was simply known as "the Rock"."

And about The Big Apple it says:

"Cultural center of the country, twice the population of any other U.S.city, the driving force of the world's economy, 19.6 million people in the immediate
metropolitan area, it can only be one place - the Big Apple - New York, New York. "The place so big they had to name it twice". Founded in 1625 by
the Dutch, it's the place considered by many to be the most facinating city in the world. Five boroughs make up The City - Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan,
the Bronx and Staten Island. If you want action and excitement, there's no place like it."

To be mentioned for the rest:

that the 6 pewter tokens are symbols like the portrait of Uncle Sam, a Baseball glove, a Hot dog and a Paddle-boat.

There is no "Jail" but a "Traffic Jam" instead.

Any player landing on "Florida" (instead of "Free Parking") is going on vacation and collects all the money in the center of the board.

Instead of houses and hotels there are Pieces of Apple Pie and American Dreams (indicated with white clouds on a pedestal!).

The small (44 x 78 mm) Big Fun and  Contingency cards are illustrated with funny pictures and have amusing texts like
"You finally get that dream Hawaiian vacation! Stand up and do the Hula or pay $ 50 for lessons" and
"Money machine goes berserk! Collect $ 200".

Edition: Houston In-A-Box
Publisher: Late For The Sky Prod. Comp.- ±1997
Dimensions of the box: 25.8 x 50.4 cm
The game:
The introduction of this game on the back of the set says:

"Houston In-A-Box is a board game based on the great city of Houston. We chose some favorite landmarks and traditions,
mixed in a big festival, some red hot peppers, traffic jams, keys to the city, Big Fun! and voilá - behold; there is HOUSTON

IN-A-BOX!"

Go
is called here Blast Off! (and in fact what else could it be here in Houston!).

The favourite landmarks and traditions you than subsequently meet are:

BEER CAN HOUSE - ORANGE SHOW - HOUSTON ZOO - SPACE CENTER HOUSTON - SIX FLAG ASTROWORLD - RICE STADIUM - THE SUMMIT - ASTRODOME - NINFA'S - ANTIOCH BABTIST CHURCH - MUSEUM DISTRICT - ALLEY THEATRE - JONES HALL - WORTHAM CENTER - ROTHKO CHAPEL - HERMANN PARK - TRANQUILITY PARK - SAN JACINTO MONUMENT - TEXAS MEDICAL CENTER - HOUSTON SHIP CHANNEL - CITY HALL and NASA.

It is a pity this set does not have an explation booklet about the board spaces, like in the America edition!

To be mentioned for the rest:

The 6 metal tokens are related to Houston City, like: "Moonman with flag", drilling rig, cowboy boot and red hot pepper.

There is no "Jail" but a "Traffic Jam" instead.

Any player landing on the "Gulf of Mexico" (instead of "Free Parking") collects all the money in the center of the board.

Instead of houses and hotels there are 2 models of grey plastic Skyline Sections and bruingele Keys to the City. Any combination of shapes may be used on the properties, up to a maximum of 4. Four Skyline Sections may be returned to the bank and a (gold) Key may be purchased.

The small (45 x 78 mm) Big Fun and  Contingency cards are all numbered and illustrated with funny pictures and have special texts like:
"Houston … The Eagle has landed. Celebrate and advance to the space of your choice." and
"5-4-3-2-1 Lift off! Advance to Nasa".

The banknotes are printed in black on colored paper and always mention "Cincinnati, Ohio". The 7 denominations are resp.: 1 (white) - 5 - 10 - 20 - 50 - 100 and 500.

the sky and taxis provide a constant symphony for throngs of people of all colors, races and social strata. New York is the world's
hub for business, communications, finance, fashion, sports, and the arts. It's the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps. Yes, it did

                                                           UNIVERSITY GAMES

Harvardopoly, 1992.Edition: Harvardopoly, 2nd edition
Publisher: Late For The Sky Prod. Comp. Rev.9 - 1992
Dimensions of the box: 26 x 51.5 cm
The game:
In 1984 Late For The Sky Prod. Comp. started making Monopoly like board games for universities. The idea is always the same:

The games are designed for "alumni, students and friends of the University".

The box always is in one colour with a white field in the center containing the name of the game. So the one of
Harvardopoly is dark red showing a large H in the white field.

GO is called here "Register & Proceed".

There are 5 tokens. That are coloured, wooden pieces that represent books titled: Anatomy, Art, Calculus, English
and Psych.

Chance is Campus Mail and Community Chest cards are named, like in this publishers' City Games,  Contingency cards.
To name some of the funny texts on these cards:
"You are assessed for Room Damages. $ 40 per nail hole costs you $ 200" and
" You've been elected president of Student Government. Pay $ 20 to every player that voted for you".

The "streets" became campus properties and favorite area businesses. It is a pity that there has no booklet been made with explanation about the properties of the specific game, like for the City Games.

"Houses" are now "Years of Credit" plastic markers and "hotels" are Diplomas" (white plastic markers).

The money consists of very poor notes with value indication.

In all games the third corner of the game board is called "Spring Break". Any player landing on this space is entitled to all the money in the center of the board.

Some specific Harvard names in this game are: Newell Boat House - Harvard Stadium - Massachusetts Hall - Fogg Art Museum and Widener Library.
At the spaces of the stations are these streetnames: Mass Ave - Brattle Street - Kirkland Court and JFK Street.

The price of these sets amount to about US$ 25.- each.

manufactures a number of CITY- and STATE GAMES as well as a few UNIVERSITY GAMES, who are "Authorized" by Hasbro, Inc..
The composition of the CITY sets is always exactly the same. That is why they are clearly recognizable as the "official" game.
Their characteristics are:

White box with forth side of the game board on the cover.

Always the "BLACK BAR" on the cover with the name of the city in white characters, at the left side the "Authorized Edition" stamp and at the right side a yellow circle with a city specific picture.

Above the black bar ON THE BOARD is a illustration of the city.

In the box is a dark blue insert with 13 "Questions That People Ask About Monopoly" and pictures of tokens printed on.

The other part of the box contains a tray of soft white plastic, for the banknotes and cards.

The back side of the box shows a picture of the game board with a story about the concerning city next to it.

The colours of the properties are equal to those of the streets of the common game, but now it concerns local enterprises and cultural institutions.

The back side of the board is always light blue. It is remarkable that the red property next to "Free Parking" is almost always of the toy shop FAO Schwarz (de main sponsor?)!

The banknotes are "Monopoly Brand"

The 10 tokens are of pewter and are packed in a bag "Made in China".

The tiny (45 x 77 mm) Community Chest (=yellow) and Chance (=red) cards do have again those nice pictures of Uncle Pennybags and refer of course to the local properties.

The houses and hotels are made of poor plastic.

Edition: Boston Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY, Inc. - 1994
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"A City Alive with History".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:
History comes to life with the authorized Boston Edition of Parker Brother's world-famous Monopoly® game. You might land on the Freedom Trail - Boston's renowned 3-mile walking tour that takes visitors past sixteen historic landmarks like Old North Church, Paul Revere's house, the Bunker Hill Monument, and the USS Constitution. A roll of the dice could take you on a shopping trip to Shreve, Crump & Low - a Boston landmark for nearly 200 years. Or you could land on the Public Garden where , in 1877, a ride on the Swan Boats was a five-cent fare.
I your token lands on the "T", welcome aboard Boston's subway, America's oldest and still one of the best. The subway opened along Boston Common in 1897 where the inaugural run in car #1752, an open-bench, four-wheeled trolley, traveled only six-tenths of a mile. Perhaps you'll land on Ye Olde Union Oyster House, America's oldest restaurant which serves the finest New England seafood exactly where Daniel Webster and other famous statesmen once dined.
Baseball, anyone? Land on the Boston Red Sox Square and root for one of the oldest professional baseball teams in the country. From the Bo Sox to the Brahmins, the history of Boston is celebrated in its music, literature, theater and art. The elegant Museum of Fine Arts, the intriguing Museum of Science, and the majestic Wang Center are each represented on the board as just a few of the dozens of Boston's cultural institutions.
And the Boston Edition of the Monopoly® games takes you beyond the city's historical roots to the contemporary side of life. You could land on FAO Schwarz (the big toy shop where this game can be bought as well!) or Talbots or Legal Sea Foods. Or you could go to Cheers, "where everyone knows your name".

Edition: La Jolla Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY, Inc. - 1994
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"The Jewel by the sea".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:
No one knows exactly where the name La Jolla originated. Some say it comes from the Spanish word that means "jewel". Others say it is an Indian term that means "hole in the mountain". But to anyone who has ever visited the little town that is 14 miles northwest of San Diego, La Jolla means "Paradise".
Dotted with sandy coves, mesas, rocky cliffs, endless beaches, and distant mountains that rise into the sky, La Jolla is often called the American Riviera.
Perhaps you'll land on La Valencia Hotel. With its pink exterior and flowering patios, this gracious "pink lady" hotel has been a haven for Hollywood celebrities since 1926. Or perhaps you'll land on Scripps Aquarium where more than 300,000 visitors a year come to see their breathtaking underwater exhibits. La Jolla is known for its unique specialty shops. Some of the oldest retail establishments are Warwick's Bookstore, Everett Stunz Linen Co., and Gentleman's Quarter - all known for their friendly and personalized service. Dining out? Be sure to experience the legendary Top O' The Cove Restaurant located in an authentic 19th century cottage overlooking La Jolla Cove and the blue Pacific.
With this La Jolla Edition, you can buy and sell real estate in this Mediterranean-like village that combines Old World traditions and casual elegance. You'll see why residents and tourists alike say La Jolla "has it all".

Edition: San Diego Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY, Inc. - 1994
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"California's Old Town".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:
San Diego is the sixth largest city in the United States. It is famous for being home to one of the world's finest zoos and the Top Gun School at the U.S.Navy's largest master jet station. It is also known for its ideal climate with sunshine 70% of the time and for its beautiful beaches. But there's so much more, as you'll discover on a trip around the gameboard.
Perhaps you'll land on Seaport Village, a delightful recreation of a 19th Century wharf, bustling with shops and restaurants and entertainment. Take a stroll on its boardwalk or tour the old-time sailing ship, The Star of India. Or maybe you'll land at the Hotel Del Coronado, also known as "the Del", with a history all its own. Thomas Edison inaugurated it as the world's first electrically lit hotel! And, if you look closely, you might recognize the hotel from a famous movie starring Marilyn Monroe.
A roll of the dice could land you on Sea World, home to Shamu the killer whale. You could stop at Horton Plaza or Nordstrom's for premier shopping. For the finest dining, Rainwater's, Pacifica Del Mar, and The Fish Market are all on the gameboard.
Wether it is a trip to the Zoo or a night at the Old Globe Theatre, a harbor tour cruise around one of the most beautiful west coast harbors, or a ride on the trolley to the Mexican border, San Diego offers a multitude of cultural and leisurely activities. In addition, it is a city that celebrates its history. Discovered in 1542 by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, San Diego is proud to be known as the "oldest town in California" and that pride is reflected everywhere you go!

Edition: San Francisco Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY, Inc. - 1995
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"The City By The Bay".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:
San Francisco is repeatedly described by visitors and residents alike as the most picturesque city in the world. From sweeping views of the bay to the curves of the Barbary Coast, from the pagode roofs of Chinatown to the Golden Gate Bridge, the city famous cable cars and the "world's crookedest" street has a magic all its own.
Perhaps more than any other city, San Fransisco epitomizes the definition of "boomtown". From a sleepy village nemed Yerba Buena, the discovery of gold turned it almost overnight into a full blown city. Never placid, this remarkable city has survived thunderous earthquakes, and devastating fires. Beyond the thick fog that often envelops the city are the quaint streets, hidden gardens, and alleys that give San Francisco its uniqueness. Now you can explore this "wold-within-a-city" without leaving your living room with Parker Brother's autorized San Fransisco edition of its classic Monopoly® game.
You can explore Fisherman's Wharf while visiting the famous Pier 39 or capture a beautifull sunset from the top of Coit Tower. Have lunch at the Fog City Diner and do some shopping at Macy's, Gump's, or FAO Schwarz.

Edition: Chicago Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY/Hasbro, Inc. - 1996
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"The Windy City".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:

Some folks call it "The Windy City". Others call it "Sweet Home Chicago", "That Toddlin' Town" or "City of Big Shoulders", but perhaps the truest motto for Chicago is also the most prosaic - "The City That Works".
With miles of lakefront and literally hundreds of city parks, it is not only the city that works, but one that plays, too. Established along the shining shores of Lake Michigan, Chicago's miles of lakefront, beaches and city parks afford postcard views and a playground for all ages. Grand Park, the city's "front yard", offers tranquil corners, shaded walkways, pleasant picnic spots and grand views of the city skyline, the lake and Buckingham Fountain. The heart of Chicago, known as "The Loop", is a vibrant commercial center anchored by Marshall Field's historic State Street store, bordered by the Sears Tower and one of the city's great cultural treasures, The Art Institute of Chicago.
Another celebrated neighborhood, Chicago's Magnificent Mile, boasts some of the city's ritziest hotels, shops and restaurants along its glamorous thoroughfare, North Michigan Avenue. A world-class shopping mecca, Chicago's Magnificent Mile is home to Water Tower Place, Crate & Barrel, FAO Schwartz and flagships of the world's finest stores. The area's cultural gem is the new Museum of Contemporary Art. It's just a leisurely stroll past the Tribune Tower to the beautifully renovated Navy Pier featuring shops, restaurants and the outdoor Skyline Stage.
With over six thousand dining options in Chicago, ethnic culinary adventures abound - Maggiano's is a local favorite for classic Italian. Friendly Midwestern cuisine ranges from hearty steaks and Eli's Cheesecake to Gino's famous deep dish pizza.
Amidst Chicago's many urban pleasures is the city's most cherished landmark, the Historic Water Tower, welcoming visitors from around the world. One of few buildings to survive the city's greatest tragedy, the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Historic Water Tower is a symbol of Chicago's indefatigable spirit.

Edition: New York City Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY/Hasbro, Inc. - 1996
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"The Big Apple".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:

Since Peter Minuit bought the island of Manhattan from the Manhattan Indians in 1626 for about twenty dollars in beads, cloths and trinkets, New York City has remained one of the most dynamic cities in the world. There's an undercurrent of energy that keeps the city growing and changing.
It's the city that never sleeps ….. but when you need to bring your tired, your weary ….. shopping legs to rest, consider checking into The Plaza or The Waldorf=Astoria – the ultimate Big Apple rest stops. Hungry? Enjoy a spectacular view of the city while dining at the world renowned Rainbow Room. Or if you prefer to be more grounded, The Four Seasons or Tavern on the Green are also exquisite selections for your palate.
Deal in the world of high finances with Citybank, Smith Barney and Deloitte & Touche. Or, get the upper hand on your opponents by controlling premium retail giants as Lord & Taylor, FAO Schwarz and Macy's. From high atop the Statue of Liberty, enjoy the panoramic view of one of the country's most vibrant places to live and visit. From the Knicks to the Rangers, from the American Museum of Natural History to America's premier public television station, Thirteen/WNET, and from Central Park to Lincoln Center – everything within sight is also within your reach as you play this game!

Edition: Philadelphia Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY/Hasbro Inc. - 1996
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"City of Brotherly Love".
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:

Truly a city of "firsts" – first bank, first daily newspaper, first hospital, first stock exchange, first zoo, first mint – Philadelphia now boasts its first authorized edition of the world's most famous board game.
Consider the merits of owning Independance Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Old Original Bookbinder's. Important transactions may include trading for the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles, The Shops at Liberty Place or The Franklin Institute Science Museum. Lovers of picturesque Boathouse Row and culinary fans of the open-air Italian Market will delight in snatching up these venerable Philly landmarks.
Historically a thriving center of industry and commerce, Philadelphia is no stranger to high stakes real estate maneuvers. And, with its latest major downtown restoration project - the Avenue of the Arts – just completed, the "City of Brotherly Love" has not only retained its stratigic position, but has renewed civic pride.
In mapping out those savvy moves, you may conduct a corporate takeover of Core States Financial Corp, Franklin Mills, or the Philadelphia Gas Works. Whatever you strategy, as you negotiate your favorite token around, keep in mind the original goal – bankrupting your opponents FIRST!

Edition: Hollywood Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY/Hasbro, Inc. - 1997
Dimensions of the box: 25.5 x 51 cm
The game:
"Lights … Camera … Action!"
This is the slogan above the story at the bottom of the box, which continues with:

The stage is set. Lines rehearsed. Cameras rolling. Your role? Lead actor assuming the part of real estate tycoon vent on becoming Hollywood's most powerful movie mogul. The script calls for your character to possess an aggrassive, take-no-prisoners attitude in the classic tradition of good, old-fashioned American capitalism. Buy, sell and trade Hollywood's hottest properties en route to taking complete control of Tinseltown.
USAOPOLY donates a portion of game sales proceeds to Family Assistance Program. This charity has a remarkable 95% success rate in helping homeless families return to mainstream life. (The other game the manufacturer donates a portion of sales to a charity is National Parks).

The bottom of the box says about this game:

"With more land in national parks, wilderness areas and national wildlife refuges than all other states combined, Alaska's magnificent real estate and natural assets hold a magical allure.
As you travel around the Monopoly board, you'll experience the incredible variety of Alaska's natural wonders. The last frontier showcases awesome mountain ranges with their ice fields and glaciers, dramatic fjords, and majestic forests, lakes and streams. Brimming with activity, the five regions offer a rich cornucopia of natural wildlife. Over 400 species roam the great expanses of land, sea and air.
Alaska's world famous northern lights offer one of nature's most inspiring sights. Our pioneer spirit is awakened. Bordering two oceans and three seas, the Land of the Midnight Sun is the ultimate destination for 21st century adventurers …. and real estate tycoons. With the Alaska Edition of the Monopoly game, the 49th state has never been more accessible."

It is a bit disappointing at opening the box to find that on the blue carton insert of the innerbox the widely known "13 most frequently asked questions" are printed! Also the "rules booklet" is poor and commences with the empty story of Charles Darrow.
Besides all equipment is that of the standard Monopoly set! It is true that the Chance and Community Chest cards have adapted texts, but the illustrations with Uncle Pennybags are "as usual" again. De banknotes are of the Alaska Edition and are illustrated with 2 pictures of a whale.
The properties on the board however, are provided with nice color pictures of animals, landscapes and natural phenomenons, like the Black Bear, Glacier Bay and Northern Lights.
On the station spaces are now transport means as they are used in Alaska, so: White Pass Railroad - Dog Sled - Float Plane and Cruise Ship! De utility spaces are well filled up with appropriate facilities as Pipeline and Portage Glacier.

The price of this set amounted to US$ 30.- in October 1998.

Edition: Arizona Edition
Publisher: USAOPOLY/Hasbro, Inc. - 1998
Dimensions of the box: 25,4 x 50,8 cm
The game:
The bottom of this box says about the game:

"The dramatic landscape, extraordinary ancient artifacts, unusual wildlife and phenomenal wonders of nature form the backdrop of "The Grand Canyon State".
Long-time residents and tourists alike will marvel at Arizona's striking natural resources, captured in vivid, color photography. From barren deserts and rugged badlands to dynamic mountain ranges and mighty rivers - you will experience the sheer beauty that has captivated inhabitants for centuries. Nature has carved indelible and glorious marks across Arizona's varied terrain. And, the harsh elements that challenged early tribal dwellers helped create the distinctive native cultures still admired today."

The impressive picture of the Grand Canyon on the lid of the box is even more imposing repeated on the centrefield of the game board. But with this all the interesting of this game is said! Because now again the "13 most frequently asked questions" are printed on the blue carton insert of the innerbox and the rules begin with the maked up story of Mr.Darrow.
The properties on the board are provided with nice pictures of animals, plants, landscapes and landmarks, like the Coyote and Roadrunner, Organ Pipe Cactus, Lake Powell and Montezuma Castle. On the station spaces are now well-know rivers. Electric Company is here appropriate Hoover Dam and Water Works became Glen Canyon Dam.
The banknotes are of the Arizona Edition and are illustrated with 2 pictures of a cactus.

The price of this set amounted to US$ 30.- in October 1998.
